Race Report and 5 Things I Noticed: Dallas Marathon

"I had dreams of how i wanted to do this race. I wanted to run the whole thing and do it really quickly and whatever. But it didn't happen the way I thought it would. And I'm still a marathoner. It doesn't have to look a certain way as long as it gets done. We forget that sometimes. but I remember it after this. My marathon didn't look the way I wanted it to but I'm still a marathoner."

The Workouts of 2014

At the beginning of 2014 I made a resolution to swim, bike and run a great deal of miles: https://www.facebook.com/jeremyg36/posts/10100114444923336?pnref=story Now that 2014 is over, how did I do?  Not so hot.  While I don't have an exact count, TrainingPeaks probably is the most accurate.  This is the total from this year of how much … Continue reading The Workouts of 2014

#WorkoutWednesday: Let’s Talk about People being Horrible to Cyclists

I've talked in the past about people being horrible to cyclists and how much I hate that.  Here are some more people being horrible to cyclists: This is a video of a guy getting hit with what looks like a full gatorade bottle.  Who even does that?  It weighs more and frankly, is a waste … Continue reading #WorkoutWednesday: Let’s Talk about People being Horrible to Cyclists

Unsolicited Workout Advice: Wear Better Shoes

"It wasn't until I got to Waxahachie and met with another physical therapist that I learned the problem. My flat feet caused me to be an overpronator which was running a shock up my leg into my knees. This was quickly corrected with Asics Gel Evolutions. Now I wear a mix between the Brooks Beast and the Brooks Addiction 10th edition (both seen above). My pain stopped, I was able to run farther and now I have completed many more races."

Learn From My Fail: First Open Water Swim of the Year

Today was my second first open water swim of the year.  My first one was a horrible fail because i dipped my palms in the water and then got out of the water. Today was a little warmer.  DFW Tri Club put on a great swim and it was free (never mind the fact that … Continue reading Learn From My Fail: First Open Water Swim of the Year
