"I had dreams of how i wanted to do this race. I wanted to run the whole thing and do it really quickly and whatever. But it didn't happen the way I thought it would. And I'm still a marathoner. It doesn't have to look a certain way as long as it gets done. We forget that sometimes. but I remember it after this. My marathon didn't look the way I wanted it to but I'm still a marathoner."
"What do you do when your pupil beats you in her first race? Do you quit? Give up? Start selling cutco knives for a hobby? What do you do? I'm supposed to be on the radio Tuesday night for a radio show about triathlons. Should I even do that anymore?"
"The other day we were eating with some friends and she brought a plate of green stuff over to the table. I went up and got a pizza. She looked at my pizza with disdain. I said "what?" She said "do you want to race?" Everyone at the table was all like "oooooh, burn!""

When people start … Continue reading Unsolicited Workout Advice: Take a #Selfie
One of my friends posted a story of two cyclists being struck by a car April 12, 2014 while riding the course for the New Orleans 2014 Half Ironman. One cyclist lost their life. Police say four bicyclists were pedaling east in the right lane when the sedan, also eastbound in the right lane, struck … Continue reading Stop Hitting Cyclists, You Guys
"It wasn't until I got to Waxahachie and met with another physical therapist that I learned the problem. My flat feet caused me to be an overpronator which was running a shock up my leg into my knees. This was quickly corrected with Asics Gel Evolutions. Now I wear a mix between the Brooks Beast and the Brooks Addiction 10th edition (both seen above). My pain stopped, I was able to run farther and now I have completed many more races."
Today was my second first open water swim of the year. My first one was a horrible fail because i dipped my palms in the water and then got out of the water. Today was a little warmer. DFW Tri Club put on a great swim and it was free (never mind the fact that … Continue reading Learn From My Fail: First Open Water Swim of the Year
